My opinion of Sarah Palin is this:
I’m happy that she was a mayor and that she ran for office and was elected by people who chose her to be their governor. I congratulate her for this.
As the VP candidate, however, I don’t think she is qualified for the job, and it’s not because she is inexperienced. It’s because she is ignorant. Ignorance is not a character flaw, but it does disqualify.
I also think that she was chosen, not because she would serve her country well as VP, but to energize the Republican ticket for purely political reasons. In this capacity, all claims toward giving women an example to follow are moot. In this capacity, she represents a sell-out, in my opinion.
Had she been qualified, and chosen for her expertise in law, in economics, in foreign policy, I could give her some respect. But she was chosen, much like a trophy wife, to make McCain look good. To grab headlines. To bring a little celebrity and distract people from the real differences between the two candidates.
I am shocked that McCain would endanger the American people this way. And I am shocked that so many are falling for it.
Its like a really bad Disney movie. – Matt Damon (not that he has all the wisdom and knowledge in the world, but I thought this was good)
I agree, though be careful what you say about celebrity stuff. Some people voted for Obama for the very same reason – he’s a convincing celebrity.

thanks for this, Gloria. it makes me feel sane.
God bless Matt Damon…he’s right she will have nuclear codes…it is absurd…it’s like me having nuclear codes…NO WAY SHOULD I?
interesting………..all you need to do is change a few job titles in your latest post, switch the gender references, change VP to ‘Presidential candidate’, and replace Sarah Palin’s name with ‘Obama’, my thoughts exactly!!! touche’
P.S. I dare you to actually post this!!!!
And here is an even funnier one: http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/palin-hillary-open/656281/
